COVENANTS
Harper’s Choice, like all of Columbia, has Village Covenants that preserve the maintenance and architectural integrity of the community and regulate changes to the exterior of all homes.
Before altering the exterior of your house or property, you should consult the Guidelines and submit an Exterior Alteration Application for approval. Residents who wish to run a business located in the home are also required to fill out and submit an In-Home Profession or Industry Application for approval. These documents can be found by clicking on the highlighted text above or may be picked up at Kahler Hall, 5440 Old Tucker Row.
The Village Board appoints an Architectural Committee annually to develop guidelines, review applications and address covenant issues in the Village. This committee is made up of dedicated, resident volunteers who live in this community. Their meetings are open to the public and are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at Kahler Hall, located in the Village Center.
Applications are to be submitted two weeks prior to the meeting where they will be discussed. Click here to see the 2011 AC meeting schedule. If you have questions about the architectural review process or the covenants in general, please call the Village Covenant Advisor at 410-730-0770 or click here to send an email.
